GALLERIA NAZIONALE D’ARTE MODERNA

It is located in Belle Arti’s street and you can visit it after a nice and regenerating walk near Villa Borghese, or better after visiting the Museum Caffe’s terrace (Gramsci street).

Inside the National Gallery, which has the hugest Italian contemporary art collection, you can live face to face an extraordinary experience with all the artwork, contemporary art and sculpture,from the 1800s to the 1900s. Along the hallway you walk through the first futurists, you may get to know Duchamp’s Dadaism and be astonished by Savino, Gattuso and De Chirico’s masterpieces. The Italian contemporary art starts from here along with Vedova, Rotella, Novelli, Burri, Fontana.

The gallery it is open either in winter and in summer time and it has the following schedule:

  • Museum: from Tuesday to Sunday 8.30 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.
  • Contemporary Art exhibition: from Tuesday to Sunday from 10.30 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.
  • Closed fot holidays: January 1st , May 1st, December 25th

Inside the Modern Art Gallery of Rome you can witness the years that pass you by in a terrific building from the first 1900s. There are two sections of the permanent exhibition, but the tickets allow you anyway in the temporary ones as well.
